reflections upon my recent business trip to denver have inspired me to write this haiku. i think it encompasses pretty much every aspect of the mile high city.

Tumbleweeds rolling
Warm one day, snowing the next
Lots of prairie dogs

2 new interests

29Jan07

recently i’ve developed two new interests..

first, google talk (thick-client app, not gmail-embedded). i first sampled this app soon (seconds, not days) after it was released and i thought it was alright, but nothing revolutionary. fast forward a few months to a few weeks ago, when another recent interest of mine (hi ccltnditw!) reintroduced me to the new and improved google talk. and i must say, wow this app is sweet. not only does it log all of your conversations and file them into gmail, but the picture sharing features are brilliant. you can just drop pictures into the chat window and they show up on your friends screen. then your friend can download them by clicking a link below the picture and just like that they’re downloaded to a predefined location. so simple. there are also some other crazy features like sending voicemail (mp3 recordings) to gmail accounts that i have yet to explore.

second, espresso. a few of my coworkers are diehard espresso drinkers, so i tried it one day to find out what all the fuss is about.. and i love it. i love the taste, i love the instant jolt of energy, and i love that i dont have to ingest as much fluid and thus dont have to pee as much.

now go download google talk while i grab a double espresso.. when i get back i want to be able to gtalk with everyone as fast as i can while i’m on my caffeine high.

anyone else out there feel like the current library of emoticons is just not comprehensive enough to fully express yourself? if so, i propose to add these to the standard set of emoticons, and i hereby offer them to the internet community free of charge. enjoy!

movie.

about half way through, i decided to use the interspersed lulls in plot development to think about how i was going to describe it on my log. i was originally going to write about how it’s a “girl movie”.. but by the end of the film i thought it would be much more fitting to describe it as a “nobody movie”.

it was boring, pointless, long, and slow. please, do something else with your time instead.
